Money Coach: Work 1-on-1 With Someone Who Teaches You, Not Just Tells You

Money management and investing coaching

You don’t need a financial planner, a wealthy inner circle, or a big pile of cash to get on top of your money.

You just need someone in your corner who can teach you how it all works, and help you make confident decisions with what you’ve got.

That’s what a money coach does. And it’s what I’ve done with hundreds of everyday Australians who were earning well but felt like they had nothing to show for it.

If you’ve been going around in circles, drowning in conflicting advice, or quietly worried you should be further ahead by now, you’re in the right place. That feeling is far more common than anyone lets on.

What Is a Money Coach?

A money coach is someone who teaches you the skills to manage your money and build wealth, so you can make your own decisions with confidence.

Not someone who takes it all off your hands. Someone who shows you how, walks beside you while you do it, and makes sure you actually understand what you’re doing and why.

Think of it like a personal trainer, but for your finances. A trainer doesn’t lift the weights for you. They give you the plan, the technique and the accountability, and your results come from doing the work with them in your corner.

Money Coach vs Financial Adviser: What’s the Difference?

This trips a lot of people up, so let’s clear it up.

A financial adviser is licensed to recommend specific products, and often manages your money for you. That has its place. But it can leave you dependent on someone else, paying ongoing fees, and no more confident than when you started.

A money coach is different. My job isn’t to sell you a product or manage your money. It’s to teach you how money works so you can run your own plan or roadmap for the rest of your life.

  • Financial adviser – often does it for you, recommends products, ongoing management and fees
  • Money coach – teaches you to do it yourself, builds your skills and confidence, including the money mindset required for success.

Many people come to me after years with an adviser, still feeling like the decisions were their responsibility anyway. The difference with coaching is that you walk away actually knowing what to do.

Just so we’re clear, I’m a coach and educator, not a licensed financial adviser. I won’t tell you what to buy. I’ll teach you how to decide.

Do You Need a Money Coach?

You might get real value from a money coach if any of these sound like you.

  • You earn a good income but haven’t built the wealth to match it
  • You keep going around in circles, unable to land on a plan
  • You’re drowning in conflicting advice from the media, your mates and the internet
  • You’ve got money sitting idle, and you know it should be working harder
  • You feel behind, and you’re ready to do something about it

None of these mean you’ve done anything wrong. They usually just mean no one ever taught you this, and that’s exactly the gap coaching fills.

How I Coach

I teach the same approach I used to go from a pile of unpaid bills to $1,000,000 in net worth by the age of 38.

It’s built on a few simple ideas. Get your money mindset and cash flow under control. Learn how money and investing actually work. Spread your money across more than one asset class – property, shares, commodities and more – rather than betting everything on one. And apply it consistently over time.

We work 1-on-1, so everything is tailored to your situation rather than a generic template. You’ll learn as we go, and you’ll finish with the skills and the confidence to keep going on your own.

Who I Work With

I coach everyday Australians who want to take control of their financial future.

Some are high earners who’ve never built wealth to match their income. Some are couples who want to get on the same page with money. Some are in their 40s or 50s and want a real plan or roadmap before retirement.

What they share is a willingness to learn, and a decision to stop drifting.

Common Questions

What does a money coach cost?

It varies with the depth and length of support. The better question is usually what it costs to keep drifting – for most people, the cost of not knowing their numbers is far higher. We can walk through the options on a call.

Is a money coach worth it?

If you value learning to manage your own money for life, rather than paying someone to manage it forever, coaching tends to pay for itself many times over. That said, it only works if you’re willing to do the work.

Do I need a lot of money to start?

No. Coaching is about building the skills and habits, and those matter far more than the size of your starting balance.

Ready to Have a Conversation?

The best place to start is a simple, no-pressure conversation about whether coaching is a fit for where you’re at.

There’s no obligation, and you’ll leave with a clearer sense of your next step either way.
