Wealth Mindset – The 3 Key Steps

In modern society what does it mean to have a wealth mindset?

We are living in a world that is changing rapidly, and there are numerous messages and pieces of information buzzing into our personal space every minute.

So how do you know what to listen to and what will help you become successful…

wealth mindsetI am seeing more and more stories or promotions for the next big thing every day.

This week’s favourite is investments related to marijuana, legal ones that is, for those that still live in places where it is illegal.

This got me thinking….

There is so much information buzzing around, how do you know what you need to gain or maintain a wealth mindset.

3 Key Steps to a Wealth Mindset

Having spent more than 20 years researching and studying the behaviour of millionaires, I have distilled their wealth mindset into 3 steps.

Believe

The first one is almost too obvious…

And in most cases I expect you will overlook the power of this first step, I know I did at first.

Simply put, a wealth mindset first requires that YOU believe you can do it.

Now I know that sounds obvious, and even too simple to actually impact your results…

But here is the kicker…

If you don’t believe you can do it, you won’t!

It is a straight forward as that, with belief comes the power to succeed.

When you believe you can do it, the door to abundance is open. Without it, the doors are most certainly closed and you can knock all you like but there will be no answer.

light bulb momentI remember the moment I finally ‘got it’.

I was at a wealth seminar with a presenter that was very successful and had taught me a lot about how to invest in property and stocks…

But this particular session was different.

He was telling a story about a troubled student who felt his teacher was making his class complete a task each day for no reason.

The task was to repeat a success related quote when their name was called for the roll each morning.

As the story progressed I began to see where the ending was going to be, but at the same time I felt the presenter was talking directly to me.

The power of the lesson was occurring to me, right in the moment.

The lesson was about belief and manifestation…

This troubled young student begrudgingly complied with his teacher each day to repeat the success quote.

The story continued and some years later, after having hit rock bottom, this student remembered his teacher and the lessons he received.

He chose at the worst moment of his life to believe he could be successful, and as you can expect from such a story, he went on to exceed everybody’s expectations of him.

And in the moment of the lesson, I finally understood the power of belief…

It was like a lightning bolt had hit me.

I finally understood that what had held me back was the inner lack of belief that success was something I could have.

So it may seem like a simple step, but the reason it is the first step is because without it, you make the journey that much more difficult than it needs to be.

Learn

The second step is to constantly learn…

All of the people that I have studied over the years have a common dedication to learning.

No matter how much money they have, they never stop trying to learn more.

Richard Branson, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, they all have an insatiable appetite for reading.

The thing that they understand is that modern society is constantly evolving and the pace of change is far more rapid today than it was 20 years ago, or 10 years ago.

So they have developed the habit of constantly reading to learn…

wealthy learningWhether it be blogs, books, podcasts or magazines, you need to set aside time for learning.

This year I set myself a personal goal to read one book every month… I know it’s not an overly ambitious goal.

So far I am doing well and have read 7 books in the first four months, so I am ahead of schedule…

This is in addition to the ebooks, blogs and podcasts that I consume on a weekly basis.

So what can you do to create a habit of learning?

Get Coaching

This third step took me a long time to appreciate…

I had always believed that as long as I understood steps one and two, I could do it on my own.

I’m an independent person, I can take what I have learned and make it happen, right?

Well the practical answer is not entirely…

You see, when you are working to build your wealth there are going to be moments when you aren’t completely sure what to do.

Having someone you can turn to for help is the super power of success.

Every successful person that I have studied, interviewed or read about has had a mentor, a coach.

And when it comes to developing a wealth mindset, universally they say that having a coach was the thing that helped them go from mediocre results to great results.

Success is not a lonely pursuit…

It is far more enjoyable being able to share the journey with others.

To have people to help you, encourage you, support you and at times push you.

Change

If you are willing to be more and do more, you can have more…

But first you need to be willing to change.

Change can be as straight forward as implementing the 3 steps to a wealth mindset.

Once you develop a wealth mindset your success will be inevitable.

One of the outcomes of a wealth mindset will be how you learn how YOU can change your life and YOUR financial future.

Making money will be easier to you, and will flow far more easily to you.

Think of what that will mean for you and decide today to develop a wealth mindset.
